ABOUT US
Established in 2007, D & C started as a father and son team and while the business has expanded over the years with additional staff and onto new premises that facilitate a full joinery workshop along side our roofing division the importance of family has continued to drive the business forward.
Today, D & C is owned and operated by husband and wife team Chris and Carrie, their team of local tradespersons along with some smaller helpers in the back ground
With family in mind we like to treat all of our customers as such ensuring that we offer a high quality service at competitive rates.
We have now expanded with an office on Exmoor covering Somerset and further afield, but still keeping family at the heart of everything we do
MEET THE TEAM
Chris - Director - SSSTS, Roofer, Scaffolder, Carpenter, Joiner
From a young age, Chris has had a head for heights and a firm belief in traditional craftsmanship and quality of work. From casual labouring in a variety of roles to learning the family roofing trade, Chris is also a qualified Level 3 carpenter and joiner and has continued through his working life to improve his skills and now there isn't much he can't do! From the early beginnings of D & C with his Dad, Chris and his wife have now developed what was once a repair and odd jobs business into successful roofing, joinery & property maintenance firms.
Carrie - Director - Administration Manager
Since she was at college, it was clear Carrie had a passion for communication and customer service. Having held a variety of administration and sales roles, she took the bold step to move to Cyprus and make the most of her organisational skills as a wedding planner. Meeting her husband brought her back to the UK in 2011 and her experience in the administration and sales roles have helped to develop D & C into the business that is today.
Billy - SSSTS - Supervisor -Multi Skilled (Tea - milk no sugar!)
Billy joined us in July 2016 as a second year multi-skills apprentice in association with PETROC college in Tiverton. Having studied on a course that covers a variety of aspects of the building trade he is able to turn his hand to a variety of tasks and most importantly this experience he is able to work well both independently and as part of the team. A firm favourite with customers, Billy is our number 2 and have developed into a fantastic asset to the team
Dennis - Roofer (Coffee - just milk!)
The original 'D' in the name D & C, Dennis retired from the business several years ago however often pokes his head in from time to time ! He has a wealth of knowledge derived from a lifetime working on roofs and we are honored that he still spends his free time keeping busy and helping us with what he knows best!
Josh – Roofer
Josh joined us as an apprentice and has worked his way up, developing his skills and experience across all aspects of roofing along the way. From learning the trade from the ground up, he has become a confident and capable roofer who can turn his hand to a wide range of work. Josh has taken the lead on many of our projects and is a valued member of the team, known for his hard work, reliability and ability to get the job done.
Callum – Labourer
Callum has been part of the D & C team for some time, and after a short break away, we're pleased to have him back with us! Having gained additional experience along the way, Callum has returned with even more skills to bring to the team. Always happy to get stuck in and lend a hand, he plays an important role in keeping things moving on site — and we're glad to have him back where he belongs!
Cameron - Labourer
Tiny but mighty! The wanderer returns. Cam has worked with us on and off for almost 4 years. He returned to us in April after a short relocation to South Devon where he continued in the industry picking up extra skills as well as welcoming his beautiful son along the way. Just don't tell him we missed him !!!
Jax – Apprentice
The newest member of the team, Jax has recently joined us as our latest apprentice and is starting his journey into the roofing and construction industry. With plenty to learn and a whole trade to discover, he's already getting stuck in and learning from the experienced members of the team. We’re looking forward to watching Jax develop his skills, gain experience and become an important part of the D & C team over the years to come.
Sophia, Harrison, Lucas and Connie - Higher Management!!!
As with most businesses there is always the 'top dog' that you have to report to, in our case it is our very own management team of Sophia, Harrison, Lucas and Connie. Since starting school, Sophia, Harrison, Lucas and Connie take a part time role in insisting that we are running a tight ship and keeping the partners in line, they still like to have an active role in the business even if it is just bossing everyone around.
Being a family business, they can sometimes be heard running the ship in the back ground!
